Workshop & Certification Testing
Sunday, April 15th & 16th 2012
Linda Easton ICMG will present a workshop covering all topics concerning bathing and drying dogs
in a grooming salon. Topics to be covered will be bathing and drying techniques, anatomy, and canine behavior.
There will be discussion of skin, ears, teeth, etc. as these relate to groomers. We will also discuss
safety, sanitation and professionalism in the salon and ways to help your salon attract and keep customers.
There
will be demonstrations of blower technique, dryer types, brushing and brush types, specialized grooming tools used in bathing
and drying dogs. Linda will give tips for stress free grooming and handling difficult dogs.
Trimming of bath dogs and double coated breeds will be discussed and demonstrated. The pros and
cons of clipping double coated breeds will also be explored.
Also,
we will cover add-ons such as maintaining show coats, de-shedding, de-matting and finishing touches.

There will also be an introduction to Groomer Certification
including benefits to the groomer, requirements and expectations in testing, and how to prepare for certification.
